A pilgrimage is a symbol that is acted out. Back in
the Middle Ages pilgrimages were very popular. Pilgrimage
was long and very dangerous - not at all like a holiday! It
may have taken many years. The pilgrims would usually travel
in groups, and stay in monasteries or inns overnight. People
went on holy journey for many reasons - perhaps to say sorry
to God for something they had done wrong (penance), or because
they were ill and wanted God to heal them. Our tours can be

Pilgrimage in the Holy Land
1: Tel-Aviv Galilee Arrival at Ben Gurion Airport. Exit
the terminal and meet with your guide. If time permits, drive
to Caesarea Maritime. Continue drive to Galilee. Dinner and
overnight in your hotel in Nazareth .
Day 2: Nazareth Cana Mt. Tabor In the morning, we
visit the Basilica of the Annunciation, starting with the
Grotto of the Annunciation and the Church. Then we will visit
the house of the Holy Family underneath the Church of St.
Joseph. We will also visit Marys Well and the Synagogue.
In the afternoon, we will drive to Cana of Galilee to visit
the wedding Church, where Jesus performed the first of his
Miracles, changing water to wine. Here, there will be a Possibility
of renewing Wedding Vows. Continue our drive to Mount Tabor,
the Mount of Transfiguration, and visit the beautiful Basilica
and the rock under the altar where the Transfiguration took
place. Dinner and overnight in your hotel in Nazareth.
3: the ministry of Christ in the Galilee In the morning,
we will drive to the Sea of Galilee to visit Capernaum. Here
we will visit the Church of St. Peters Memorial and the house
of St. Peter and the Synagogue where our Lord preached. Continue
our drive to Tabgha to see the splendid mosaic of the loaves
and fishes, where Jesus fed the Five Thousand People. Continue
towards Mt. of Beatitudes, where our Lord gave the Sermon
on the mountain. We will also enjoy a boat ride on the Sea
of Galilee. In the afternoon, visit the Jordan River to renew
our Baptismal Vows. Then we continue our drive to Haifa, and
climb up Mt. Carmel. We will visit Stella Maris, and Elijah's
Cave. On to Jerusalem. Dinner and overnight in your hotel
4: Bethany Jericho Qumran Masada Dead Sea Drive
to Bethany (the village of Mary Martha and Lazarus ) to visit
Lazarus Tomb. Continue our drive along the Jordan Valley to
Jericho. Visit the ancient city, Elisha's Spring, the Sycamore
Tree, New City and view of Mt. Temptation. Further to Qumran
and visit the excavations of the Essean Monastery and the
Cave of the Scrolls. Continue drive to Masada and Dead Sea.
Dinner & overnight at your Hotel in Jerusalem.
5: The Old City Mt. of Olives After breakfast -full
day with a walking tour of the old city of Jerusalem. Visit
the Temple Area: see the Western Wall, the Dome of the Rock,
Al-Aqsa Mosque, St. Anne Church and the pool of Bethesda.
Trace the final footsteps of Jesus as you walk the Via Dolorosa.
See the Church of Flagellation, Ecce Homo, and The Holy Sepulcher.
In the afternoon, we will drive to Mount of Olives, and visit
the Ascension Chapel, Pater Noster Church, Dominus Flevit,
and the Church of Gethsemane. Dinner & overnight at your Hotel
6: Mt. Zion Bethlehem Ein Karem In the morning, we
will drive to Mount Zion, and visit St. Peter in Gallicantu,
The Cenacle (Upper Room), and the Dormition Abbey. We then
continue our drive to Bethlehem to visit the Basilica of Nativity,
Chapel of St. Jerome, Milk Grotto, and the Shepherds Field.
In the afternoon, we will drive to the near-by village of
Ein Karem to visit the Church of Visitation and Church of
St. John the Baptist. On to the Holy Land Model. Dinner &
overnight at your Hotel in Jerusalem.

DAY CHRISTIAN catholic pilgrimage rome departs from

1 - Tuesday: ROME ARRIVAL Arrival to Rome. Transfer
to the hotel on your own. Overnight in Rome.
DAY 2 - Wednesday: Audience of Holy Father
Early breakfast at a hotel. At 07:00 gathering at the
Pontifical State's discretion, the audience might be
celebrated in Piazza S. Pietro or in the Nervi Hall.
Panoramic tour of the city: Piazza San Bernardo with
Moses' Fountain, Piazza della Repubblica with Fountain
of Naiadi, Via Veneto, Piazzale Flaminio, Via Fiaminia,
the Olympic Village, Ponte Milvio, Lungotevere, Foro
Italico, Ministry of Foreign Affairs followed by a short
stop at the Stadio dei Marmi. Going along the Lungotevere
towards Castel Sant'Angelo we will arrive on Via della
Conciliazione and then at Piazza San Pietro. We will
enter the Nervi Hall to attend to the papal audience.
Return to the hotel. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight
3 - Thursday: Basilica of St. Mary Major, Basilica
of St. John in Lateran, Ancient Appian Way, The Catacombs
of St. Callixtus Breakfast at a hotel. Morning at leisure.
At 13:45 we will leave Piazza San Bernardo, adorned
crossing Piazza della Repubblica. Drive along Via Nazionale
and then a visit to the Basilica of St. Mary Major,
built on the Esquiline Hill in 352 A.D. The tour will
be continued visiting the Basilica of St. John in Lateran,
cathedral of Rome and of the world. Hence, we will go
to the Holy Stairs, climbed by Jesus Christ to reach
Pilate's Palace. From here the tour will be continued
by coach crossing Piazza San Giovanni and Via Latina.
Skirting along the Mura Latine, the tour will pass through
the Porta di San Sebastiano to arrive on the ancient
Appian way, where the Chapel of "Domine Quo Vadis is
located. Visit of the Catacombs of St. Callixtus (approx.
45 min. On Wednesdays the Catacombs of S. Domitilla
will be visited instead). On return the bus will be
passing the Caracalla Baths. Return to the hotel. Overnight
4 - Friday: Vatican Museums - Vatican Galleries
- Sistine Chapel - Vatican - Library Hall At 08:15 we
are leaving Piazza San Bernardo, adorned by Moses' Fountain,
heading to Piazza della Repubblica with the Fountain
of Naiadi in the middle. Then the itinerary will continue,
passing by Via Piemonte, the Aurelian Walls, Porta Pinciana,
the Muro Torto and the Villa Borghese. After this ample
view of an important part of the city, we will visit
the Vatican Museums and the Vatican Galleries. You will
then admire the Round Hall, the Hall of the Greek Cross,
the burial site of Constantine's two daughters: Helena
and Constanza. We will then stop to admire the Sistine
Chapel frescoed by Michelangelo. We will continue with
the Galleries of the Chandeliers, of the Tapestries
and of the Geographical Maps to end up in the Vatican
Library Hall. Afternoon free. Overnight in Rome.
5 - Saturday: ROME Breakfast, Day at leisure. Overnight
6 - Sunday: Holy Father's Blessing. Early breakfast.

blessing - Trevi Fountain - Pantheon - Piazza Navona
- St. Peter's Basilica At 08:15 pick up for the tour
from Piazza San Bernardo, adorned by Moses' Fountain.
We will continue towards Piazza della Republica, Via
Piemonte, the Aurelian Walls, Porta Pinciana, Via Veneto,
Via Nazionale. After this ample view of an important
part of the city, the guided tour will lead you to the
Trevi Fountain, a baroque jewel, and to the Pantheon,
originally a pagan temple, which will be visited. We
will head to Palazzo Madama, seat of the Senate of the
Republic, to finally get to gorgeous Piazza Navona,
built on the ruins of the Domitian's Circus. Then you
will have the chance to admire Castel Sant'Angelo and
to visit the St. Peter's Basilica. Afternoon free. Overnight
7: ROME DEPARTURE Check out from the hotel. Transfer
to the airport on your own.
